SHOW YOU'RE CARING
ALWAYS DO YOUR BEST
RESPECT AND RESPONSIBILITY
EVERYONE KNOWS WHAT YOU GIVE COMES BACK TO YOU
Our school motto "What you give comes back to you" is the foundation of our school pastoral care and values program. Our core values, S.H.A.R.E underpin all we do at Ngunnawal. Our values of Show caring, Honesty, Always do your best, Respect and responsibility, Everyone know what you give comes back to you, are taught, discussed, modelled and practised throughout the school.
All staff have embraced the SHARE Values within class meetings, using them as part of everyday language and presenting the SHARE song at Assembly. Some teachers have made their own videoclip/powerpoint to enhance their Assembly item. We develop close relationships with our students and parents and seek the support of parents in teaching their children to respect others and care for each other.
SHARE values are emphasised on colourful banners created by the students and displayed in the Hall. Students demonstrating SHARE values day to day are recognised with portfolio awards which are colour coded with the banners. SHARE values charts for each student are displayed in every classroom.
Staff have developed characters who enact episodes portraying good practice displaying SHARE values which are captured on video and shown at Assemblies. Captain Recycling has made a number of videoclips encouraging Caring for the Environment and recycling. Ngunnawal Jones and Congo the monkey have gone on a quest to find the 5 Golden Lizards that encompass our SHARE Values. Various staff are making guest appearances within the videoclips.
There is a sense of enjoyment and support from all staff, students and parents regarding the Ngunnawal SHARE Values.
