Meet the Principal

Yuma (welcome) to Ngunnawal Primary School. Our school is designed to cater for the learning needs of students from Preschool to Year 6. We pride ourselves on providing the very best learning experiences for all students. Relationships and partnerships with families are critical at Ngunnawal Primary School.  We believe that when you enrol a child, you enrol the family.  As a team we work hard to develop positive relationships between children, staff, families and the community.

In Preschool our students enjoy a play-based program that meets the individual needs of every student. It is central to our program that our children have many opportunities to investigate, research, take risks, ponder, wonder, experiment, experience, engage and express themselves every day. At Ngunnawal Primary School we work to support each child to develop a positive
self-image enabling them to relate to people with confidence in a range of situations. A positive self-image helps develop self-reliance and independence. Our school is a safe and happy place where children are valued and nurtured. Our preschool program incorporates the principles and practices of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).

Ngunnawal Primary School enjoys strong, positive relationships with the community. Parents and carers are welcome to participate in school activities through volunteering in the canteen, assisting in the classroom, attending school excursions or camps, helping in the library, nominating for a role on the School Board or joining in community events through the P&C.

This booklet is designed to provide you with the information you will need to know now, before your child starts school, and as the school year progresses. Ongoing, additional information will also be provided in the form of fortnightly newsletters and Seesaw, a digital learning portfolio and communication tool.

We look forward to a long and mutually beneficial partnership as we work with you to ensure students are equipped to achieve their full potential.

Regards,

Rebecca Turner
